Helsinki is full of nature, and a great way to explore it is by riding a Fatbike. The bikes are easy to ride, and fun is guaranteed. Join us on an unforgettable bike tour in Helsinki!
Coastal Helsinki is full of great trails for beginners as well as more advanced riders. Pine trees, rocky shores and sandy beaches are the characteristics of Eastern Helsinki, but the local marine nature offers a lot more to be experienced.
On this bike tour we ride on dirt roads and small tracks through forests and along the coast of the Gulf of Finland. The bikes work well in the winter, so this excursion is not dependent on the weather. Snowy and icy conditions make the ride a bit more demanding, but just as fun. Just remember to wear warm clothes and bring a beanie!
We start the bike tour at the Vuosaari Paddling Center and gear up with the right sized bikes – there are three different frame sizes, so the bikes are suitable for the whole family. After a quick introduction your guide leads the group to nearby trails and makes sure that everyone is comfortable with their bike settings.
After riding dirt roads for a while we proceed to smaller trails and paths. Pace is kept easy and comfortable the whole time and we’ll have a break by the Baltic sea with views over the archipelago. The wider-than-normal tyres offer enough friction on snow, mud and even ice. The bikes are 18-speed and have a hand brake – they are light to handle and actually perform really well in winter conditions.
A transfer back to Helsinki city center is waiting after the bike tour. For this tour we recommend some previous biking experience and an adventurous spirit!
